Funding news: Fairer Life Chances – Grants of up to £500,000
Are you a Scottish organisation working with children, young people, families or people experiencing disadvantage? A significant new funding opportunity from The National Lottery Community Fund could help you make a lasting difference.
The Fairer Life Chances programme is now open for applications, offering grants of between £20,001 and £500,000 for projects lasting up to five years.
The programme aims to support projects that help people overcome poverty, disadvantage or discrimination and improve their quality of life.
Who is Fairer Life Chances for?
The funding is available for projects in Scotland that support:
- Children, young people and families to thrive
- Better relationships and connections
- Improved physical or mental health
- People experiencing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination
Projects only need to achieve one of the programme's two key outcomes, so organisations don't need to address every area to be eligible.
How much funding is available?
Organisations can apply for between £20,001 and £500,000, with funding available for projects lasting up to five years.
The National Lottery Community Fund expects most awards to be £250,000 or less, while organisations that have not previously received long-term funding of two years or more can generally apply for up to £100,000. The Fund will discuss the appropriate amount and length of funding with applicants.
A decision is expected within 12 weeks.
Put people at the heart of your project
One of the important features of Fairer Life Chances is the emphasis on co-design. The National Lottery Community Fund wants projects to be designed with the people they are intended to support, rather than simply delivered to them.
Applicants should demonstrate how the people they support will be involved in developing, delivering and leading the project, while making use of their existing skills and interests.
Projects should also complement and connect with other services supporting the same communities.
Is this opportunity right for your organisation?
If your organisation is developing a project that could help children, young people, families or people experiencing disadvantage to live healthier, more connected and fulfilling lives, Fairer Life Chances could provide significant long-term support.
With grants potentially worth hundreds of thousands of pounds and funding available for up to five years, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
We can help organisations identify suitable funding opportunities, develop compelling cases for support and prepare strong grant applications.
Don't miss the opportunity to turn your project ambitions into lasting impact.
